Interview with Barbara Dickson

Barbara Ruth Dickson was born in Dunfermline, Scotland on September 27th 1947

What a voice! What a performer! Barbara Dickson has staying power! She is still at the top of her game. Her name is one of the most respected in the music industry. Countless great singles, albums, compilations and soundtracks have been presented to us over the years. By the way who can forget the 1985  single “I Know Him So Well” with Elaine Paige that reached the top of the charts giving Barbara her first UK # 1?

I’m a fan and am delighted that she took part in this little Q & A for The Scrivens Post.

TSP: If you could go back in time to when you were 20 years old and give yourself  some advice – what would it be?

BD: Not to worry so much about the future but to concentrate on what’s happening now!

TSP: What do you feel is the greatest lack in the world?

BD: The greatest lack in the world is consideration for others.

TSP: What is your definition of a spiritual person?

BD: Spirituality is putting into practice what you preach. Taking time to reflect and acting upon it.

TSP: Do you have a life philosophy that you follow?

BD: I just try not to do damage to anything as I go along and not expect too much.

TSP: What in your opinion,  is the most important thing that parents can give their children to prepare them for life?

BD: Self confidence in the things that matter i.e. kindness, duty and consideration for other people.
